1985 Rolex GMT-Master II 16760 “Aged Coke”

$0.00

Serial:
8.6M

Case:
Unpolished with extremely prominent chamfers, bevels, and factory finishing.

Dial and hands:
Unique signs of aging on the dial giving it an uneven textured finish. The tritium in both the hour markers and hands have aged to a deep custard shade.

Bracelet:
11 link 78360 Oyster bracelet with very little stretch.

Accessories:
Watch only.

Notes:
An abundance of all natural patina.

One of the wildest dials I’ve seen in a while. Not only has the tritium in the hour markers aged to an even deep custard, but the dial shows a frosted texture. In the mid - late 80’s glossy dials in sports Rolex were prone to extraordinary aging. This is the same era most “spider” dials are from.
The general theory is the first few batches of glossy dials after Rolex transitioned from matte dials had unforseen aging characteristics. Most of these were replaced with service dials which is what makes the remaining original dials a little more special.
